La Fogata Restaurant in Hatteras Island

Hey, it's a Mexican restaurant! Lots of beans, lots of cheese, lots of guacamole... What is not to like? These guys do a really good job service is great very friendly atmosphere stop in and try it!

Delicious! We had excellent service. The food was amazing! The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. The chips were hot and fresh. I ordered Chicken Fajitas and my husband had the Enchilada Supreme (cheese, beef chicken, and bean). Both entrees were fantastic! Thank you!

We always stop at this restaurant when we visit the OBX! Great food, friendly service and the prices are very reasonable. The chips are always warm and fresh while the house salsa is not spicy but is tangy with cilantro!

I had chicken tacos and rice, the rice was pretty good and the tacos were decent. The others people I was eating with both disliked their meals, they said they were too greasey, also the portions were big and the service was good. The restaurant was decently nice and the menus were dirty.

Really good food especially for the price. The enchilada poblanas are my favorite along with the lime margaritas. Service is great and quick.

Great Mexican food for the island.

The food is hot and comes out quick, I am partial more to the one in Nags Head, but it's still a quick, affordable meal. So enjoy.

During a week vacation we came 3 times. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. The shrimp chimichanga won't disappoint.

The food was good but nothing special...there aren't many Mexican restaurants in the area...so if you are craving some Mexican food you can't go wrong eating here

Not that good. The ground beef had no flavor except a fatty taste. My sis in law liked hers and my son liked his but no beef they had quesadillas so they liked. But not what I'm used to from a Mexican restaurant.

FOOD POISONING. we were here on vacation and my friend ate the chicken taquitos and she felt nauseous right away and ended up throwing up hours later!!! My other friend had chicken nuggets and and the nuggets were distasteful and had little unidentifiable objects inside a few of them! Bland food as well. Would NOT recommend.

The guacamole and salsa were good. The hostess was extremely friendly as well as the bus boy. I went with my family of 8. Some of my family members enjoyed certain foods. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because I did not feel as the though the food was exceptional or high quality.

Our waiter, Jorge, was great. He was quick and friendly. Our one year old loved him! The food was great as well. Definitely wish we had found this place sooner!

Not much to say here guys and gals. If you like mexican this place is great. Lunch menu is cheap and delicious.

To be honest, we didn't go in with high expectations and were very surprised. Everything was nicely prepared and tasty and clearly effort was made with the sauces with success. Staff was friendly and professional.

Picked up 2 chix chimichangas and 1 beef. Both people who had the chicken are sick and stuck in the bathroom today. Dont wreck you vacation! Stay away!

Visited while on vacation and it was some of the best Mexican food we have had... and we usually eat at Mexican restaurants at least 3-4 times a month. Prices were reasonable, service was on point.

We ate there last week and the food was wonderful. Each of us got something different and it all was great! The server was very good too.

Walked in just before closing. Not many places are open in the winter. Received excellent service and wasn't rushed at all. We were as quick as possible and tipped extra for keeping them late.

The best Mexican food I have eaten in a long time and I eat Mexican food often. It was so good and great service we ate here twice during our vacation. Large amount of food. Fair prices. Highly recommend.

I vacation at the OBX about twice a year and have eaten at this LaFogata in the past and it was decent. Tonight was not a pleasant experience for my family. The ACP tasted like rubbery chicken, my daughters taco tasted reheated in microwave and my combination enchilada, burrito, rice and beans was bland. I realize a lot of restaurants are just doing take out because of Covid restrictions but save your money, walk over to Food Lion and buy anything to cook back at the cottage before eating here. The waiter asked me how everything was and I told him the truth. He didnt say, Can I bring you something else, he was sorry, nothing as he didnt care. I will not be returning!

We visited La Fogata TWICE during our week long visit to the OBX because it was so good the first time that we wanted to make sure everyone from our group had a chance to try it. Excellent food and quick service!

All the food was great! I loved the rice. Out group got tacos, fajita, enchilada, and a burrito Jalisco. It was all very good. Service to pay was a bit slow but all staff was friendly.

One of my favorite restaurants on the island. The staff are always smiling and helpful. The food is always fresh and delicious, as well as they have a great drink selection.
